Psalmii 64
- 1 Ascultă-mi glasul, Dumnezeule, când gem! Ocroteşte-mi viaţa împotriva vrăjmaşului de care mă tem!
- 2 Păzeşte-mă de uneltirile celor răi, de ceata gălăgioasă a oamenilor nelegiuiţi!
- 3 Ei îşi ascut limba ca o sabie, îşi aruncă vorbele lor amare ca nişte săgeţi,
- 4 ca să tragă în ascuns asupra celui nevinovat; trag asupra lui pe neaşteptate, fără nicio frică.
- 5 Ei se îmbărbătează în răutatea lor: se sfătuiesc împreună ca să întindă curse şi zic: „Cine ne va vedea?”
- 6 Pun la cale nelegiuiri şi zic: „Iată-ne gata, planul este făcut!” O prăpastie este lăuntrul şi inima fiecăruia!
- 7 Dar Dumnezeu aruncă săgeţi împotriva lor: deodată iată-i loviţi.
- 8 Limba lor le-a pricinuit căderea, şi toţi cei ce-i văd clatină din cap.
- 9 Toţi oamenii sunt cuprinşi de frică, şi mărturisesc: „Iată ce a făcut Dumnezeu,” şi recunosc că aceasta este lucrarea Lui!
- 10 Cel neprihănit se bucură în Domnul şi în El îşi caută scăparea; toţi cei cu inima fără prihană se laudă că sunt fericiţi.

Dumitru Cornilescu (4 April 1891 - 1975), a Romanian orthodox archdeacon, later a Protestant minister created this translation in 1921. It is popular particularly among protestants.
