Worship at - St Johns
We have planned a variety of different types of worship and we hope that every one will find something which suits them and helps them on their Christian journey.
We are an inclusive church and everyone is welcome regardless of their gender identity, sexuality, background or culture. Children are welcome at all times and to all services.
Live music always features in our services and ranges from the well loved traditional hymns to newer music and sometimes Taize chants.
We still have a choir which leads our singing who often perform special pieces particularly at Christmas, during Lent and at Easter.
So whether you are new to church or an old hand, come and be welcome.
Traditional Communion Service
On the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 8.00am, we celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection using the words of the traditional communion service. This is a wonderful, quiet and reflective service – a place of calm and worship.
Parish Communion
Every Sunday (excepting the 4th Sunday) we hold a Parish Communion Service at 9.30am, to which all are welcome. During term times Guthlac’s Gang and Sunday Youth are held and they join us at the beginning of the service and return to tell us what they have been doing during their own time of worship.

All Age Service
On the 4th Sunday of every month at 9.30am. we hold an ‘All Age’ Service. This is a less formal service which is attended by our Guthlac’s Gang and Sunday Youth.
The children and young people often help lead and take part in this service. Each service explores a key concept of our Christian belief often in rather exciting ways!
If you haven’t been to church for a while and want a gentle introduction to Christian Worship why not start here?
