- 1 又一日、上帝衆子詣耶和華前、撒但亦與焉、
- 2 耶和華謂撒但曰、爾奚自、對曰、徧歷塵寰、往來其間而返、
- 3 耶和華曰、我僕約伯、爾留意乎、彼純全端正、寅畏上帝、離棄諸惡、世無其匹、爾雖激我、無故滅之、彼仍守厥正、
- 4 撒但對曰、以皮代皮、人願捐其所有、以保生命、
- 5 今且伸手擊其骨肉、必面違爾、
- 6 耶和華曰、彼在爾手、惟存其生、
- 7 撒但退、擊約伯、使之發癰、自踵至頂、
- 8 乃坐於灰、以片瓦搔身、
- 9 其妻曰、爾猶守正乎、其違上帝而死、
- 10 曰、爾出言、如愚婦也、我儕自上帝受福、不亦受禍乎、約伯於此諸事、未嘗以口干罪、○
- 11 約伯三友、提幔人以利法、書亞人比勒達、拿瑪人瑣法、聞彼遭此諸難、各自其地至、相約偕往、哀而慰之、
- 12 舉目遙望、而不之識、大聲號哭、各裂其衣、向天揚塵蒙首、
- 13 同坐於地、歷七晝夜、見其憂甚、無與言者、
