Ψαλμοί 137
- 1 Επί των ποταμών Βαβυλώνος, εκεί εκαθίσαμεν και εκλαύσαμεν, ότε ενεθυμήθημεν την Σιών.
- 2 Επί τας ιτέας εν μέσω αυτής εκρεμάσαμεν τας κιθάρας ημών.
- 3 Διότι οι αιχμαλωτίσαντες ημάς εκεί εζήτησαν παρ' ημών λόγους ασμάτων· και οι ερημώσαντες ημάς ύμνον, λέγοντες, Ψάλατε εις ημάς εκ των ωδών της Σιών.
- 4 Πως να ψάλωμεν την ωδήν του Κυρίου επί ξένης γης;
- 5 Εάν σε λησμονήσω, Ιερουσαλήμ, ας λησμονήση η δεξιά μου
- 6 Ας κολληθή η γλώσσα μου εις τον ουρανίσκον μου, εάν δεν σε ενθυμώμαι· εάν δεν προτάξω την Ιερουσαλήμ εις την αρχήν της ευφροσύνης μου
- 7 Μνήσθητι, Κύριε, των υιών Εδώμ, οίτινες την ημέραν της Ιερουσαλήμ έλεγον, Κατεδαφίσατε, κατεδαφίσατε αυτήν έως των θεμελίων αυτής.
- 8 Θυγάτηρ Βαβυλώνος, η μέλλουσα να ερημωθής, μακάριος όστις σοι ανταποδώση την ανταμοιβήν των όσα έπραξας εις ημάς
- 9 Μακάριος όστις πιάση και ρίψη τα νήπιά σου επί την πέτραν

This translation started in 1831 and was published in 1850 by the Orthodox Archimandrite and professor of the National University of Athens, Neophytos Vamvas with the help of other researchers. Considering that the Greek Orthodox Church wouldn't support him, he collaborated with the British and Foreign Bible Society to publish this translation.
The text is written in "kathareuousa", a form of greek that is not spoken today in Greece. It is closer to spoken greek though, than the Septuagint (also known "translation of the seventy").- Encoding: UTF-8
