- 1 Wenn nicht Jehova für uns gewesen wäre, sage doch Israel,
- 2 Wenn nicht Jehova für uns gewesen wäre, als die Menschen wider uns aufstanden,
- 3 Dann würden sie uns lebendig verschlungen haben, als ihr Zorn gegen uns entbrannte;
- 4 Dann würden die Wasser uns überflutet haben, würde ein Strom über unsere Seele gegangen sein;
- 5 Dann würden über unsere Seele gegangen sein die stolzen Wasser.
- 6 Gepriesen sei Jehova, der uns nicht zum Raube gab ihren Zähnen!
- 7 Unsere Seele ist entronnen wie ein Vogel aus der Schlinge der Vogelsteller; die Schlinge ist zerrissen, und wir sind entronnen.
- 8 Unsere Hülfe ist im Namen Jehovas, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat.
