- 1 过了年，在列王出征的时候，约押带领军兵，毁坏了亚扪人的地方，然后去围困拉巴。那时大卫住在耶路撒冷。约押攻打拉巴，把城摧毁。
- 2 大卫从米勒公神像的头上取下金冠，发现金子净重三十公斤，又有一块宝石嵌在上面；有人把这冠冕戴在大卫的头上；大卫从城里夺走了大批战利品。
- 3 又把城里的众民拉出来，要他们用锯子、铁铲和斧子作工；大卫待亚扪各城的人都是这样。后来大卫和众民都回耶路撒冷去了。
- 4 这事以后，以色列人在基色与非利士人交战；那时户沙人西比该击杀了巨人的一个儿子细派，非利士人就被制伏了。
- 5 后来，以色列人与非利士人再次交战，睚珥的儿子伊勒哈难，击杀了迦特人歌利亚的兄弟拉哈米；这人的枪杆好像织布机轴一样。
- 6 后来，在迦特又有战事；那里有一个身材高大的人，手脚各有六指，共有二十四根指头；他也是巨人的儿子。
- 7 这人侮辱以色列人，大卫的哥哥示米亚的儿子约拿单就把他击杀了。
- 8 这些人是迦特巨人的儿子，都死在大卫和他仆人的手下。
