Psalms 149
- 1 Praise you the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
- 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
- 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises to him with the tambourine and harp.
- 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
- 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud on their beds.
- 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
- 7 To execute vengeance on the heathen, and punishments on the people;
- 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
- 9 To execute on them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise you the LORD.

This is a new translation of the Bible, based on the original King James Version. It is a simple word for word update from the King James English. I have taken care to change nothing doctrinely, but to simply update the spelling and vocabulary. I have not changed the grammar because that could alter it doctrinely.
I am hereby putting the American King James version of the Bible into the public domain on November 8, 1999.
