- 1 요담이 통치하기 시작할 때에 나이가 이십오 세더라. 그가 예루살렘에서 십육 년 동안 통치하니라. 그의 어머니의 이름은 또한 사독의 딸 여루사더라.
- 2 그가 자기 아버지 웃시야가 행한 모든 것에 따라 주의 눈앞에서 올바른 것을 행하였으나 주의 성전에는 들어가지 아니하였고 백성은 여전히 부정하게 행하였더라.
- 3 그가 주의 집의 높은 문을 건축하고 또 오벨의 벽에 많은 것을 건축하며
- 4 또 유다의 산들에 도시들을 건축하고 숲 속에 성채들과 망대들을 건축하니라.
- 5 ¶또한 그가 암몬 족속의 왕과 싸워 그들을 이겼더니 바로 그 해에 암몬 자손이 은 백 달란트와 밀 만 고르와 보리 만 고르를 그에게 주었고 또 둘째 해와 셋째 해에도 암몬 자손이 그 만큼을 그에게 바쳤더라.
- 6 이처럼 요담이 주 자기 하나님 앞에서 자기 길들을 예비하였으므로 강하게 되었더라.
- 7 ¶보라, 이제 요담의 나머지 행적과 그가 치른 모든 전쟁과 그의 길들은 이스라엘과 유다의 왕들의 책에 기록되어 있느니라.
- 8 그가 통치하기 시작할 때에 나이가 이십오 세였으며 그가 예루살렘에서 십육 년 동안 통치하니라.
- 9 ¶요담이 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들매 그들이 그를 다윗의 도시에 묻으니 그의 아들 아하스가 그를 대신하여 통치하니라.
