- 1 Iotam avea douăzeci şi cinci de ani când a ajuns împărat şi a domnit şaisprezece ani la Ierusalim. Mamă-sa se chema Ieruşa, fata lui Ţadoc.
- 2 El a făcut ce este bine înaintea Domnului, întocmai cum făcuse tatăl său, Ozia. Numai că n-a intrat în Templul Domnului. Totuşi poporul se strica mereu.
- 3 Iotam a zidit poarta de sus a Casei Domnului şi a făcut multe clădiri pe zidurile de pe deal.
- 4 A zidit cetăţi în muntele lui Iuda şi cetăţui şi turnuri în dumbrăvi.
- 5 A fost în război cu împăratul fiilor lui Amon şi i-a biruit. Fiii lui Amon i-au dat în anul acela o sută de talanţi de argint, zece mii de cori de grâu şi zece mii de orz şi i-au plătit tot atât pe anul al doilea şi al treilea.
- 6 Iotam a ajuns puternic pentru că şi-a urmat necurmat căile înaintea Domnului, Dumnezeului său.
- 7 Celelalte fapte ale lui Iotam, toate războaiele lui şi tot ce a făcut el, sunt scrise în cartea împăraţilor lui Israel şi Iuda.
- 8 El avea douăzeci şi cinci de ani când a ajuns împărat şi a domnit şaisprezece ani la Ierusalim.
- 9 Iotam a adormit cu părinţii săi, şi l-au îngropat în cetatea lui David. Şi, în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Ahaz.

Dumitru Cornilescu (4 April 1891 - 1975), a Romanian orthodox archdeacon, later a Protestant minister created this translation in 1921. It is popular particularly among protestants.
