- 1 是夕王不得寢、命取歷代史記、乃誦於王前、
- 2 其中載云、王之二豎、司閽者辟探提列、謀害亞哈隨魯王、末底改首告之、
- 3 王問曰、末底改因此、膺何尊榮爵位、侍臣對曰、無之、
- 4 王曰、誰在院中、時、哈曼適進王宮外院、欲與王言、懸末底改於其所具之木、
- 5 侍臣對曰、哈曼立於院中、王曰、使之入、
- 6 哈曼入、王問曰、王欲榮者、若何待之、哈曼意謂、王欲榮者、孰逾於我、
- 7 遂曰、王欲榮之、
- 8 則取王所服之朝衣、及王所乘戴冠之馬、
- 9 以衣與馬、付最尊之大臣一人、以衣衣王所欲榮者、使之乘馬、遊於邑衢、宣告其前曰、王欲榮者、待之若是、
- 10 王命哈曼曰、速取衣馬、依爾所言、以待坐於御門者、猶大人末底改、凡爾所言、毋少欠缺、
- 11 哈曼遂取衣馬、以衣衣末底改、俾其乘馬、遊於邑衢、宣告其前曰、王欲榮者、待之若是、
- 12 末底改反御門、哈曼則憂、蒙首趨歸、
- 13 以所遇之事、悉告其妻細利斯、及諸友朋、彼之智士、曁其妻曰、爾始屈於末底改、如彼果猶大族、爾必不能與抗、終必仆於其前、
- 14 言時、王之內豎至、亟攜哈曼、赴以斯帖所備之宴、
