- 1 非利士人與以色列人戰、以色列人遁、在基利波山、見殺而仆、
- 2 非利士人急追掃羅及其子、殺其三子、約拿單、亞比拿達、麥基舒亞、
- 3 掃羅被攻、戰勢劇烈、射者追及之、窘急特甚、
- 4 謂執兵者曰、爾其拔劍刺我、免未受割者至而侮我、執兵者懼甚、不敢奉命、掃羅遂伏劍而死、
- 5 執兵者見掃羅死、亦伏劍而死、
- 6 於是掃羅與其三子、全家偕亡、
- 7 居谷中之以色列衆、見民遁、掃羅與子皆死、遂棄邑而逃、非利士人至而居之、○
- 8 翌日、非利士人來剝尸、見掃羅與其子仆於基利波山、
- 9 乃剝掃羅尸、斬其首、取其鎧甲、遣使至非利士四境、傳於偶像及庶民、
- 10 置其鎧甲於彼之神廟、釘其首於大袞廟、
- 11 基列雅比人聞非利士人待掃羅之事、
- 12 壯士咸起、取掃羅及其子之屍、攜至雅比、葬其骨於雅比之橡下、禁食七日、
- 13 夫掃羅之死、因其干犯耶和華、不遵其命、且請示於憑鬼者、
- 14 而不諮諏耶和華、故耶和華殺之、以其國歸於耶西子大衞、
