- 1 Och konung Ahasveros tog skatt både av fastlandet och av öarna i havet.
- 2 Och allt vad han i sin makt och sin väldighet gjorde, ävensom berättelsen om den storhet, till vilken konungen upphöjde Mordokai, det finnes upptecknat i de mediska och persiska konungarnas krönika.
- 3 Ty juden Mordokai var konung Ahasveros' närmaste man, och han var stor bland judarna och älskad av alla sina bröder, eftersom han sökte sitt folks bästa och lade sig ut för alla sina landsmän till deras välfärd.
