- 1 Είθε να έσχιζες τους ουρανούς, να κατέβαινες, να διελύοντο τα όρη εν τη παρουσία σου,
- 2 ως πυρ καίον θάμνους, ως πυρ κάμνον το ύδωρ να κοχλάζη, διά να γείνη το όνομά σου γνωστόν εις τους εναντίους σου, να λάβη τρόμος τα έθνη εν τη παρουσία σου.
- 3 Ότε έκαμες τρομερά πράγματα, οποία δεν επροσμέναμεν, κατέβης, και τα όρη διελύθησαν εν τη παρουσία σου.
- 4 Διότι εκ του αιώνος δεν έμαθον οι άνθρωποι, τα ώτα αυτών δεν ήκουσαν, οι οφθαλμοί αυτών δεν είδον Θεόν εκτός σου, όστις να έκαμε τοιαύτα εις τους επικαλουμένους αυτόν.
- 5 Έρχεσαι εις συνάντησιν του ευφραινομένου και εργαζομένου δικαιοσύνην, των ενθυμουμένων σε εν ταις οδοίς σου· ιδού, συ ωργίσθης, διότι ημείς ημαρτήσαμεν· εάν διεμένομεν εν αυταίς, ηθέλομεν σωθή;
- 6 Πάντες τωόντι εγείναμεν ως ακάθαρτον πράγμα, και πάσα η δικαιοσύνη ημών είναι ως ρυπαρόν ιμάτιον· διά τούτο επέσαμεν πάντες ως το φύλλον, και αι ανομίαι ημών αφήρπασαν ημάς ως ο άνεμος.
- 7 Και δεν υπάρχει ο επικαλούμενος το όνομά σου, ο εγειρόμενος διά να πιασθή από σού· διότι έκρυψας το πρόσωπόν σου αφ' ημών και ηφάνισας ημάς διά της χειρός των ανομιών ημών.
- 8 Αλλά τώρα, Κύριε, συ είσαι ο Πατήρ ημών· ημείς είμεθα ο πηλός και συ ο Πλάστης ημών· και πάντες είμεθα το έργον της χειρός σου.
- 9 Μη οργίζου σφόδρα, Κύριε, μηδέ ενθυμού πάντοτε την ανομίαν· και τώρα επίβλεψον, δεόμεθα· λαός σου είμεθα πάντες.
- 10 Αι άγιαι πόλεις σου έγειναν έρημοι, η Σιών έγεινεν έρημος, η Ιερουσαλήμ ηρημωμένη.
- 11 Ο άγιος ημών και ο ώραίος ημών οίκος, εν ω οι πατέρες ημών σε εδοξολόγουν, κατεκάη εν πυρί· και πάντα τα εις ημάς αγαπητά ηφανίσθησαν.
- 12 Θέλεις, Κύριε, κρατήσει σεαυτόν εν τούτοις; θέλεις σιωπήσει και θέλεις θλίψει ημάς έως σφόδρα;

This translation started in 1831 and was published in 1850 by the Orthodox Archimandrite and professor of the National University of Athens, Neophytos Vamvas with the help of other researchers. Considering that the Greek Orthodox Church wouldn't support him, he collaborated with the British and Foreign Bible Society to publish this translation.
The text is written in "kathareuousa", a form of greek that is not spoken today in Greece. It is closer to spoken greek though, than the Septuagint (also known "translation of the seventy").- Encoding: UTF-8
