- 1 ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงโปรดช่วยเพราะคนที่ตามทางของพระเจ้าไม่มีอีกแล้ว และคนสุจริตได้อันตรธานไปจากบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์
- 2 ทุกคนกล่าวคำไร้สาระต่อเพื่อนบ้านของตน เขาทั้งหลายพูดด้วยริมฝีปากที่ป้อยอและสองใจ
- 3 พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงตัดริมฝีปากที่ป้อยอออกเสียสิ้น และลิ้นที่พูดวาจาเย่อหยิ่งนั้นด้วย
- 4 คือบรรดาผู้ที่กล่าวว่า “เราจะชนะด้วยลิ้นของเรา ริมฝีปากของเราเป็นฝ่ายเรา ใครจะเป็นนายเรา”
- 5 พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า “เราจะลุกขึ้นเดี๋ยวนี้ เพราะคนยากจนถูกบีบบังคับ และคนขัดสนคร่ำครวญ เราจะจัดเขาไว้ในที่ปลอดภัยจากคนที่พ่นความร้ายใส่เขา”
- 6 พระดำรัสของพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นพระดำรัสที่บริสุทธิ์ เป็นเหมือนเงินหลอมให้บริสุทธิ์ในเตาไฟบนแผ่นดินแล้วถึงเจ็ดครั้ง
- 7 โอ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์จะทรงป้องกันพระดำรัสเหล่านั้น พระองค์จะทรงปกปักรักษาพระดำรัสไว้เสมอจากพงศ์พันธุ์นี้
- 8 คนชั่วก็เพ่นพ่านไปมาอยู่รอบด้าน ขณะเมื่อมีการยกย่องคนชั่วช้าที่สุด
