Worship at St Johns
We have planned a variety of different types of worship and we hope that every one will find something which suits them and helps them on their Christian journey. Music always features in our services and ranges from the well loved traditional to newer songs. We are lucky to have a choir to lead the singing and at Easter they perform one of the traditional Cantatas and at the start of Advent lead a 'Come and Sing' Messiah.
So whether you are new to church or an old hand, come and be welcome.
Traditional Communion Service
On the 1st Thursday of the month at 11:00am and 2nd and 4th Sundays at 8:00am we celebrate Christ's death and resurrection using traditional words.
On the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month at 9.30am we have a Parish Communion Service to which all are welcome. Our Sunday Club and Sunday youth run during term time.
Worship in Today's World
On the 2nd Sunday of the month at 9.30am, a team of church members (lay people) put together a short contemporary service focussed on the issues, events, challenges and dilemmas facing us in the 21st Century.
Although focussed on exploring the Christian response the service draws on many traditions and uses a wide range of material to make Christianity real and relevant in today's world.
If you want to try something different this is a great place to start.
